Treadmills FAQ's

Q1: Where can I find the serial number and model number for my treadmill?

The model number is located (on the serial number sticker) which is located on the underside of the console.

Q2: What is the SI1 error code on my treadmill console readout?

The SI1 code indicates the Safety Key is not attached to the treadmill and the belt will not move. Attach Safety Key to console assembly.

Q3: How can I obtain warranty service or technical assistance for my treadmill?

Contact our Technical Service department using our online contact form. A customer service representative will assist you with all warranty or technical questions.

Q4: Do I need to have a surge protector connected to my treadmill?

Yes. The treadmill could be seriously damaged by sudden voltage changes in your homes electrical power. Only use with a single outlet surge suppressor that is UL 1449 listed as a Transient Voltage Surge suppressor (TVSS).

Q5: Can I perform general maintenance on my treadmill?

Yes. Vacuum underneath the treadmill to prevent buildup. Once a year you should remove the motor cover and vacuum dirt that has accumulated.
One a month, wipe the unit down with a soft, damp cloth or towel on the edge of the belt and the area between the belt edge and frame. Only use water or a mild soap and water mixture. Do not use cleaners or abrasives. Also, use a nylon scrub brush to clean the top of the walking belt. Allow drying time before using the treadmill.

Q6: How often should I lubricate my walking deck? What should I use for lubrication?

The walking belt has been pre-lubed at the factory. However, it is recommended for optimal performance, the walking board be checked periodically for lubrication. Every 30 days or 30 hours of operation raise the side of the walking belt and feel the top surface of the walking board as far under the belt as you can reach. If you feel signs of silicone, then no further lubrication is required. If, however, the walking board surface feels dry to the touch, additional lubrication should be applied. We recommend for lubrication you use NAPA 8300 which is available through NAPA Auto Parts Stores, or Pyroil Silicone Lubricant which is available in most stores.

Q9: When I touch the frame of my treadmill, I occasionally get a shock. What causes this?

The shock is a build up of static electricity on your body called Electrostatic Discharge (ESD). Friction between the walking board and belt can generate static electricity. If experienced, the shock is not harmful or dangerous.
